Pokémon GO Nest Spawns Changed

Pokémon GO Nest of Pokemon

Pokemon Nests Have Been Conquered By Other Species

Multiple sources (Reddit, Twitter, The Silph Road, Pokévision, and even Forbes) are suggesting that the nests* of Pokémon from old locations have changed. For example, a nest of Voltorb Pokémon is now a nest of Gastlys. Another example, Central Park NY was a giant Pinsir nest yesterday. Today it appears to be Electabuzz. The internet has worked together to create the following list of changes:

Some observations:

  • Magnemites & Voltorbs spawn in nests (parks) and in "industrial areas" which remain unchanged
  • No "nests" for Snorlax, Chansey, Porygon, Lapras, Grimer, Koffing and fossil pokemans

No word from Niantic if this is confirmed, however many users of this game are reporting this feature as legitimate. This makes one wonder if the AI of the game was able to create this nest takeover, or if Niantic programmed it in? Either way, this is a very intelligent display of a virtual takeover of one species on another, which is incredible.

* Nests - Areas located that only has one Specific Pokémon there. For example, "There's a nest of Pikachu at the beach!"
